5 things you probably didn't know about me

Hello! I've been here for a while now, and I've realised that I often don't talk about myself in the same way I used to. I'm all about writing for other people, but I thought it would be fun for you to learn a little more about me too! Here are a few things you probably didn't know about me!

1. Dinosaurs

I'm a huge fan of anything to do with dinosaurs. I love reading books about them and I drag my boyfriend to dinosaur exhibitions and documentary showings quite often. I also have lots of dinosaur figures even though I'm not really a knick-knack collector at all.

As an illustrator, I'm really hoping that one day I get the opportunity to illustrate a dinosaur story or children's fact book! (Although, I might have to make my own opportunity here!)

2. Analog

Something else I'm obsessed with is analog cameras. I have a collection of polaroids and film cameras, including some really unusual toy cameras that produce some both weird and beautiful results. I actually have a small Instagram account devoted to my analog photography, 'shan35mm', if you're interested.

3. Crime

I think this header makes it look like I am somehow involved in crime, but I can assure you, I'm not... But I am almost addicted to watching crime documentaries. I have no idea why, but I just love watching murder documentaries. Learning more about the victims, who deserve their story to be heard, and the psychology behind why people murder. I in no way idolise murderers like some of the people on Tumblr in recent times, i.e Charles Manson's death, but I do find their stories interesting.

I'm currently reading, 'His Bloody Project' which is a true account of a mass murderer back in 1869. I'm only around halfway through but it's been really interesting so far!

4. Blogging

Of course, you know I blog, you're here! But something that has changed about me in recent years is that I'm aware I've started to view blogging as a side job, rather than a hobby. But I still feel completely lost if I don't get a chance to write for a few days. I guess it pays to do what you love.

5. Music

Finally, something you probably didn't know, because I don't really tell anyone, is that I play the guitar, sing and write songs... alone in my studio. My dream for a while now has been to play on stage one day, although I'm sure I wouldn't be good enough to do so, and my constant reoccurring tonsilitis would probably stop me from doing that too. But we can dream.

Do we have anything in common? I'd love to know more about you on Twitter @inasensebeauty!
